Grad Career Week | Communicating Your Research to Broad Audiences Tuesday, October 13, 5-6 p.m., Clifton Court Hall, room 1130 Participants in this interactive session will develop skills for describing their research to audiences outside their disciplines. The session will provide all attendees with structured opportunities to develop research introductions, identify and eliminate jargon, and practice adapting research introductions to different audiences. The session will also introduce additional graduate student resources available from the UC Center for Public Engagement with Science. Refreshments provided. Attendees will be entered to win UC Graduate College branded swag. Presenter: Dr. Angela Potochnik, Philosophy Professor, College of Arts & Sciences, and Director, Center for Public Engagement with Science Presenter Bio: Angela Potochnik is Professor of Philosophy, Head of the Philosophy Department, and Founding Director of the Center for Public Engagement with Science at the University of Cincinnati. Her research addresses the nature of science and its successes, the relationships between science and the public, and methods in science, especially biology. Transportation and Parking Free UC shuttle services are available for students with a UC ID, including routes between West and Medical campuses.
