Privacy Policy
Local Loop (“we”, “our”, or “the app”) helps people across Northwest Ohio discover and share local events, garage sales, and food trucks. This policy explains what we collect and how we use it. We keep it short and plain.
What we collect
- Your email address. Only if you choose to post something. We use it to send a one-time sign-in code and to let you manage your posts. Browsing the app never requires an account.
- Content you submit. The events, garage sales, and food-truck stops you post, including any photos you attach. These are meant to be shown publicly in the app after review.
- Addresses you enter. When you type a location while posting, we send what you type to our maps provider to suggest matching addresses.
- Reports you file. If you report a listing, we record which listing and the reason, to keep the community safe.
- Basic app usage and device information. For reliability and, if you see ads, to display them. This may include a device advertising identifier.
We do not collect your precise location, your contacts, or your browsing history.
How we use it
- To show local listings and the things you post.
- To send sign-in codes and prevent spam and abuse.
- To review and moderate submissions before they appear publicly.
- To keep the app working and, where shown, to display advertisements.
Who we share it with
We do not sell your personal information. We use a small number of service providers to run the app:
- Supabase. Stores listings, photos, and account data.
- Mapbox. Suggests addresses as you type them while posting.
- Resend. Sends your one-time sign-in code by email.
- Google AdMob. Shows ads and may use a device advertising identifier (only if ads are enabled).
- Expo / EAS. Delivers the app and, if enabled, push notifications.
These providers process data on our behalf under their own privacy terms.
Your choices and rights
- You can browse without an account.
- You can ask us to delete your account and the posts tied to it at any time by emailing us (below).
- You can turn off ad personalization in your phone’s settings.
Children
The app is intended for a general audience and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13.
Data retention
We keep your posts while they are active and for a reasonable period afterward for moderation and records. Account data is removed on request.
Changes
If we make material changes to this policy, we will update the date above and, where appropriate, notify users in the app.
