Smart Sips Alcohol Screening

Please join us for an educational and fun-filled day. In the morning from 11:00am - 2:00pm students, staff, and faculty can sign-up for Alcohol/Drug Screening. Hosted by YSU Student Counseling and Mahoning County MHR Board, this training can help our campus community better understand and recognize the signs and symptoms of addiction, strategies to start a conversation, and how to refer individuals who are seeking help for addiction issues. This is a fun scavenger hunt event meant to help students learn how to make safe decisions about alcohol. Each student will receive a "roadmap" where they will stop at each station to learn a fact (psychoeducation) and participate in an activity to earn a check mark on their roadmap and receive a giveaway (i.e., T-shirts, drink covers, etc.). Stations include: Counseling Services - alcohol screening - learn the facts about healthy drinking DOS - Facts about on campus drinking Campus Rec - Have fun with drink goggles (learn what it is like to drive impaired) AVI - sample 4 fall/Halloween mocktails and take some drink recipes home!
