SMBC Meet and Greet: Operations, HR, Planning, Treasury/Controllers, and Procurement

Our SMBC Meet and Greet Series is a unique opportunity to meet and interact with the various business areas that hire interns. This session will feature overviews of five business groups followed by a Q&A session. Operations SMBC's Operations Department is where all related financial transactions are processed and reviewed. The department's goal is to process all transactions within an error-free environment. Human Resources The HR Department spans various functions, including Talent Acquisition, Employee Relations, Compensation & Benefits, Learning & Development, HR Analytics, etc. As a team, we work on strategic projects that align with SMBC's business priorities and support the firm's growth and success. Risk Management The Risk Management Department comprehensively and dynamically manages the risks facing SMBC across various risk stripes and categories. Risk plays a critical role in SMBC's "second line of defense," overseeing and monitoring risks across the firm, creating sound risk management policies, principles, and frameworks, and working to ensure strong controls are in place to manage and promote informed risk taking. Strategic Planning Strategic Planning drives SMBC's enterprise transformation agenda, delivering Target Operating Model and Front Office enablement to support business growth.
