Indigenous Foodways Demo

This program will share information regarding ways the Miami Tribe of Oklahoma community is reclaiming identity and asserting sovereignty through traditional myaamia foods. The demonstration will share a hominy soup recipe, with information on the role of cultural and nutritional knowledge. The program will use the library's mobile teaching kitchen, the Charlie Cart. The library obtained its Charlie Cart through a successful Library Services and Technology Act (LSTA) grant awarded by the State Library of Ohio with federal funds from the Institute of Museum and Library Services.
