Seating is limited. Deadline to register: Oct. 2 Overview This workshop is suitable for experienced or beginning gel plate printers, whether you want to explore new techniques and materials or are just starting out. Experimentation will drive us; while learning about acrylic paint transparency or opaqueness, layering, various substrates, and thoughtful color choices will guide us towards successful prints. About the Presenter Deb A. Davis is a practicing artist with over 45 years' teaching experience. She wants you to feel supported, to develop confidence and skills while engaging in the gel plate printing process. You will be transforming flora into exciting, multi-layered prints. Papers/substrates will be provided for everyone. Cost to Register with all Materials Provided: $125 What's included: Golden Open Acrylics, 5" X 7" gel (Gelli) plate, barren, brayer, and papers/substrate, cleaning materials, baby wipes. Cost to Register and Supply Your Own Materials: $75 Suggested materials - your own acrylics, Golden Open preferred, (heavy body acrylics will work, though they dry faster and may be too opaque), gel plate, barren, brayer. UToledo Student Rate: $25 (Limit of 5 students) (materials supplied by UT Department of Art) All participants need to bring plant leaves and/or stems, grasses, or flowers to print, in addition to scissors, an Xacto knife, a ruler, and paint brushes.
