Yellow Springs Film Festival
The Yellow Springs Film Festival returns October 1-4 with four days of independent film, documentaries, special screenings, live music, comedy, filmmaker Q&As and conversations with some fascinating names from the worlds of film, television and music. Friday schedule: 12:30 PM - Their Town The Foundry Theater Katie Aselton directs this coming-of-age drama/comedy about two high school students who spend one unforgettable night confronting their uncertain futures. Badges accepted 3:30 PM - Black Zombie Little Art Theatre This documentary digs into the origins of the zombie, tracing the figure from colonial Haiti and spiritual traditions through its evolution into one of horror's most recognizable characters. Badges accepted 4:30 PM - You Belong Here + Q&A with Steve Zahn & Chef Ouita Michel The Foundry Theater An unreleased cooking series produced by actor Steve Zahn and starring acclaimed chef Ouita Michel. The screening is followed by a live Q&A and small bites featured in the program. Badges accepted 6:30 PM - The Royal Tenenbaums: 25th Anniversary Screening Little Art Theatre Celebrate Wes Anderson's beloved classic with a costume contest, trivia and prizes. Badges accepted 8:00 PM - Nebraska Live + Q&A with Director Thom Zimny The Foundry Theater Bruce Springsteen performs his landmark Nebraska album in an intimate black-and-white concert film.
