"Sand Wars," A Green Planet Film and Discussion
UC Clermont's Sustainability Committee presents "Sand Wars," a surprising investigation into one of the most consumed natural resources on the planet today--sand. Due to its high demand all around the globe, sand reserves are being threatened. Three-quarters of the world's beaches are in decline and bound to disappear as victims of accelerated erosion and sand smuggling. Journey through this film and discussion to learn firsthand what to do about this new gold rush. Thursday, Nov. 5, 12:15-2 p.m. Snyder S-142, UC Clermont. Virtual optional available. Free lunch provided. Bring Your Own Water Bottle (BYOWB) Students who attend may receive credit toward UC's Certificate of Achievement in Environmental Literacy.
