One of the most powerful - and underused - capabilities in BoodleBox is the ability to build custom AI bots tailored to your unique teaching, research, and administrative work. In this hands-on session, you will walk through a real faculty use case that demonstrates how to design, build, and refine a custom bot from start to finish. You will craft effective instructions, add knowledge sources to ground your bot's responses, and test your bot's behavior in real time. You will leave with at least one working bot of your own and a framework for building more. Why you should attend: Identify repeatable teaching, research, or administrative tasks that are well-suited for a custom bot. Design effective bot instructions by applying prompt engineering best practices. Add and organize knowledge sources (documents, links, and reference materials) to ground your bot's responses in trusted content. Build and test at least one custom bot tailored to your own professional context. Apply strategies for iterating, refining, and sharing your bots with colleagues or students. To register for this event, use the Fall 2026 Campus Partner CFE Session Registration Form. Advance registration is required. Registration will close one business day before the scheduled event. You will receive the Zoom link one day before the event. For more information on this event, visit the Session Catalog page of the Center for Faculty Excellence (CFE) website.
