A Recovery Ally is a person who strives to eliminate the injustices faced by people in or seeking recovery from a substance use disorder by creating recovery friendly environments where individuals, families, and communities can thrive. Recovery Ally Training prepares Bobcats with the knowledge, skills, and tools to act as Recovery Allies and to create a campus community where students are supported and celebrated. In order to become a Recovery Ally, university community members attend a Recovery is Spoken Here (RISH) training. In this training, Bobcats learn: Recovery-friendly languageChallenges faced by students in recoveryWarning signs of substance misuse or other addictive behaviorsHow to support students and foster a recovery-friendly campus environmentInformation on the Collegiate Recovery Community (CRC) and other resourcesParticipants will receive a sticker and bracelet upon completing the training.
