Career Adventures Day
Dayton Metro Library's seventh annual Career Adventures Day (CAD) will take place at the Main Library Tuesday, November 3-Thursday, November 5, from 9:30 am-12 pm. More than 1,200 middle school students are expected to attend from Brookville, West Carrollton, Trotwood-Madison, Northmont, Mad River, and Dayton Public Schools. Designed for middle school students, this half-day field trip features interactive exhibits, an opening speaker, and opportunities for one-on-one conversations with local employers, higher education institutions, and representatives from some of the region's most in-demand industries, helping students explore future career possibilities. Through hands-on experiences, students gain exposure to a variety of industries as they begin planning their educational and career pathways through secondary education and beyond. Montgomery County Educational Service Center (MCESC) Career Navigators, professionals who help connect students' interests and aptitudes with potential career paths, coordinate the field trips and tie the experience back to the school day, while DML's Youth Services staff support visiting students. "Preparing young people for success is what the Library does," said Allison Knight, DML's Youth Services and Programming Director and event organizer. "Career Adventures Day is just one way we support students in our community by helping them learn about the opportunities available to them in the future." The Dayton Area Chamber of Commer
