Still a Brother: Inside the Negro Middle Class (William Greaves, 1986)

A landmark public television program, Still a Brother looks at the danger of passive acceptance of white, middle-class values by Black people. Still a Brother: Inside the Negro Middle Class is Greaves's first real attempt at asserting his cinematic voice to offer a multilayered interpretation of race and class in America. The documentary shows various Black middle-class communities presenting their struggles about not quite fitting into either Black or white worlds.
