UC Health Simulation: Emergency Department Cases

Explore the Fast-Paced World of Emergency Care Through Simulation Join UC Health for an immersive, in-person simulation experience designed for healthcare students interested in emergency medicine, trauma care, critical care, surgery, and other acute care specialties. The Emergency Department Cases Simulation provides participants with the opportunity to strengthen clinical skills, build confidence, and apply classroom knowledge in realistic patient care scenarios. Students will assess and manage patients presenting with a variety of emergency department conditions commonly encountered in acute care settings. Through hands-on participation, students will:Practice patient assessment and clinical decision-making Respond to realistic emergency scenarios in a safe learning environment Strengthen critical thinking and prioritization skills Develop effective communication techniques using closed-loop communication Experience teamwork, role delegation, and collaboration in a fast-paced healthcare setting Gain exposure to multidisciplinary approaches to patient care Participate in guided debriefing sessions with experienced clinicians to enhance learning and reflection This interactive simulation emphasizes patient safety, teamwork, and evidence-based care while providing valuable insight into the challenges and rewards of working in emergency and acute care environments.
