Florence Nightingale

Florence Nightingale was an English social reformer and statistician, widely regarded as the founder of modern nursing. She rose to prominence during the Crimean War in the 1850's, where she organized effective care for wounded soldiers and greatly improved hospital conditions. After the war, she established the world's first secular nursing school in London and became an enduring symbol of compassion and professionalism, inspiring modern humanitarian medical efforts, including the Red Cross.
