Fall Swing Dance

Pizza provided for attendees of our Fall Dance event with the goal of teaching historic swing dance. Historic partner swing dance has been endangered through a lack of open education on styles, moves, and techniques. Social dances, which this event is, are a special opportunity to use the skills learned in class through open dancing with a variety of different styles and partners. In this event, all attendees will be able to see how their skills have grown and continue the legacy of swing dance in its intended end result rather than the static movement that lessons may lead to. While these lessons are intended to be a culminating showcase of club members' lessons, a quick technique refresher is provided so everyone, including first time attendees, can be comfortable dancing. Additionally, we encourage attendees to dress formally, to evoke the memory of how swing dance might have been utilized in specific social events throughout American history.
