Creative Confluence: An Art Exhibition by Hiromi Katayama
The Ohio University Eastern Art Gallery presents Creative Confluence, an art exhibition featuring the work of artist Hiromi Katayama, on display November 9 through December 3, 2026. A native of Ibaraki, Japan, Katayama draws inspiration from nature and her Japanese cultural heritage. Her artwork incorporates traditional Japanese painting techniques, materials and pigments, blending time-honored artistic practices with contemporary expression. Through her work, Katayama shares an appreciation for Japanese art and culture while inviting audiences to explore the connections between nature, tradition and artistic expression. The community is invited to attend a special artist reception on Monday, November 16, from 6:30-8 p.m. The reception offers an opportunity to experience Creative Confluence and celebrate the arts at Ohio University Eastern. The exhibition is free and open to the public. The OHIO Eastern Art Gallery is located on the second floor of Shannon Hall, Room 202, and is open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. To 5 p.m. To learn more about the artist and her work, visit www.hiromikatayama.com.
