The Disease of Me: How Losing My Professional Baseball Career, Drug Addiction and Brain Cancer Saved My Life

Open to Tri-C Nursing faculty, employees and students, as well as registered nurses This continuing education activity aims to educate faculty, nurses in the community and Tri-C employees and students on the importance of recognizing areas of care for addiction, cancer and pet therapy. The importance of this care will be discussed throughout the presentation, and it will include topics such as what contributes to substance abuse, the neurological, cognitive and physical warning signs of a brain tumor, and the physical, emotional and psychological advantages of therapy dogs for patients, students and community members. Refreshments will be provided.
