AI Tools for Researchers Workshop
Ever spent hours hunting for the right paper, fighting with citations, or staring at a dataset with no idea where to start? AI can help, if you know how to use it well. Join UGRS for a hands-on workshop where three speakers will share the AI tools they use in their own research. You'll learn about: Finding and understanding literature: using AI to search for papers, summarize them, and map out a field quickly Writing and editing: getting help with drafts, abstracts, and posters while keeping the work your own Data and coding help: using AI to write and debug analysis code Using AI responsibly: checking AI output for accuracy, avoiding made-up citations, and following your lab's and the university's policies on AI use Featured Speakers Aja Bettencourt-McCarthy, UC Libraries CEAS Madeleine Gaiser, UC Libraries CECH Thomas Scherz, AI Engineer/Software Applications Developer The workshop ends with a Q&A with all three speakers. It's open to all majors and experience levels, whether you're already in a lab or still looking for your first research position.
