Author Visit - David Fierst

Ohio author, David Fierst, will join us at the library for a discussion and presentation about his nonfiction work, "Hidden Disgrace: Revealing the Distress Signals Covered by North American Indian Myths." Fierst's presentation on Hidden Disgrace has the purpose of revealing Indian people as simply people and not savages nor "Noble Savages" Fierst also has a goal of explaining Indian history is simply United States history and that events in early Ohio history were critical in shaping the results of what became known as "Westward Expansion." Likewise, four men born in Ohio--Ulysses S. Grant, William T. Sherman, Phil Sheridan, and George A. Custer played major roles in what became known as the Plains Wars.
