The New Monstrous Feminine: Gender and Horror Films

Just in time for Halloween, The University of Akron's Women's Studies Lecture Series features Dr. Kara Kvaran to talk about "The New Monstrous Feminine: Gender and Horror Films." Dr. Kvaran, an associate professor of instruction in Women's Studies, has published research examining the relationship between horror films and socio-economic conditions. This lecture will explore gender and horror cinema, offering an opportunity to consider how the genre currently portrays women and femininity. The event is free and open to the public, and Zippy cookies will be provided.
