Al O'Leary Hurling & Camogie Tournament
The Al O'Leary Hurling & Camogie Tournament welcomes clubs from across the Midwest and Canada to Akron for a day of competition, camaraderie, and Irish culture. Whether you're already a fan or have never seen hurling or camogie before, the tournament is a great opportunity to experience two of Ireland's traditional sports right here in Northeast Ohio. Admission is free and open to the public. A food truck will be onsite throughout the day, and our merchandise partner, OH'Irish, will also be joining us with custom Akron Celtic Guards gear available for purchase. This year's tournament is especially meaningful as we celebrate the 100th birthday of its namesake, Al O'Leary. Al's lifelong dedication to hurling and to growing the sport throughout Northeast Ohio has inspired generations of players and helped lay the foundation for what would become the Akron Celtic Guards. We're proud to celebrate his extraordinary legacy and this milestone birthday alongside the tournament that bears his name.
