Smithsonian Event: White House Memories
Join us as we launch the Smithsonian program series, a Taste of the Times. This series is made possible by the Smithsonian Rural Library initiative. The first program of this series will feature a live virtual presentation by Gary J. Walters , the longest-serving chief usher in White House history. He will share the extraordinary events he experienced during his 37 year tenure serving Presidents and their families from 1970 to 2007. The evening will begin with a tasting of foods based on recipes from the White House. There will also be a White House ornament display to view and a drawing for a copy of Walters' book.
