Composed on the eve of World War II, this dramatic 40-minute cantata weaves together the words of Walt Whitman, the Old Testament, and the Latin Mass to create an urgent plea for peace in a world torn apart by war. Its message is as timely and compelling today as when it was first performed. Season Ticket Packages
