CRHC Conference/Southeast Ohio History Center Exhibition -- Ohio Settlement: Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of Happiness
The Southeast Ohio History Center wil offer a special viewing of its exhibition -- Ohio Settlement: Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of Happiness -- onSunday, September 13, from 10:00AM to Noon as part of the events of the CRHC Conference 250 Years: The Promises and Legacy of the Declaration of Independence. Curated by Ohio University students who participated in the CRHC-NEH Summer Internship Program, the exhibition explores the efforts Southeast Ohioans have made to realize the full impact of the Declaration of Independence in the 250 years that followed it. Using items from the collection of the Southeast Ohio History Center (SEOHC), the exhibition showcases the how Americans have continuously strived to define the meaning of life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness and to claim their unalienable rights. This exhibition was made possible in part by a major grant from the National Endowment for the Humanities.
