2026 Vinton County Air Show News Release #6 09/13/2026 We are just days away from the best Air Show and Chicken Bar-B-Q in Southeastern Ohio! The annual Vinton County event takes place this Sunday at 1:00 pm. The best of the best will be flying high over Pumpkin Ridge in Vinton County and the best Chicken dinner you have ever tasted will waiting for one and all on Sunday, September 20th. Vinton County Pilots and Booster's started flying and Bar-B-Qing Chickens in 1970 and have held the event even since! It starts off the fall season in southeastern Ohio with the sight of smoke in the sky and the smell of Bar-B-Q. Fred Baden, President of the Booster stated that the line up for this year's show is one of the best. Many of the old standby's will be on hand! Fred said that this year's show has new radio controlled, 3D flyer and R/C jet pilot Chris Fry. You can check him out on many of the social media outlets. Of course, it wouldn't be and Air Show if the flying LAWN MOWER didn't take to the sky. Roger Barns will be on hand to prove that a lawn mower can do more than just mow grass! This year's line up has Emerson Steward, Rod (Tico) LaCerda, Brett Hunter and Mike Hartman all painting the sky's over Vinton County with white smoke in their General Aviation planes. Bob Church and his Screaming Chicken Sky Diving Team will also be on hand to start and end the show.
