Helado Negro is the project of Roberto Carlos Lange, a producer and singer-songwriter known for his compassionate, atmospheric and experimental pop music. His work blends deeply personal reflections with broader observations on the world, exploring vulnerability, hope and uncertainty with a sense of curiosity. His new EP, "The Last Sound on Earth" (Big Dada, out Nov. 7), reflects on despair, hope and inspiration against the backdrop of a planet in crisis. Inspired by the question, "What will the last sound I hear before I die be?" Lange pairs frenetic electronics, distortion and echo to capture both dread and the possibility of renewal. Tracks explore themes of hyperconnection and loneliness, power, protection, cynicism, and the balance between nothingness and possibility. Despite its weighty themes, movement and joy remain central to Helado Negro's music. Live performances transform grief into something freeing, creating space for release, reflection and connection. As Lange puts it, "The last sound is love ... That's the sound I hope to hear." A preconcert reception from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Features live local music, bites from Ollie's Trolley, pizza from N.Y.P.D. Pizza, craft beer tastings from HighGrain Brewing Co. And grain-to-glass spirits from Northern Row Brewery & Distillery.
