Pit Firing at UA Field Station

Myers School of Art Ceramics department is teaming up with UA Biology at the Field Station at Bath Nature Preserve for an exciting pit firing event. This event is led by ceramics faculty and ceramicist CJ Carter. Pit firing ceramics is an ancient method of making pottery in a pit filled with organic material rather than a modern kiln. The Field Station will be open all day with the exciting parts of the pit firing to take place when loading the pit around 9am and unloading the pit around 2-3pm. We hope to see you there!
