Some leaders leave a mark on BGSU that lasts long after their time on campus. During Homecoming, BGSU President Rodney K. Rogers invites alumni, students, faculty, staff, friends and community members to join him in honoring President Emeritus Mary Ellen Mazey and celebrating her lasting contributions to Bowling Green State University. A LEGACY OF TRANSFORMATION During her tenure as President from 2011 to 2017, Mary Ellen Mazey ushered in a transformative period at the University marked by academic growth, campus revitalization and an enhanced national profile. In addition, she led Changing Lives for the World, the University's second comprehensive fundraising campaign, which led to historic success in increasing student scholarships. She also championed major capital projects to enhance student learning and academic research, including the Michael & Sara Kuhlin Center, the Robert M. And Patricia A. Maurer Center and significant renovations to University Hall and Moseley Hall. As president, Mary Ellen Mazey strengthened the University's focus on and commitment to meaningful student experiences and opportunities. She also built relevant and strategic partnerships with public and private entities, including the Ohio Attorney General's Office and Wood County Hospital, to support student learning, faculty research and Ohio's workforce development. The Mary Ellen Mazey Quadrangle recognizes that lasting impact and creates a gathering place for generations of Falcons. RSVP
