Venison 101: Harvest to Table

Venison 101: Harvest to Table will be held on Saturday, October 24 from 9:00am-1:00pm at the Canfield Fairgrounds (7265 Columbiana-Canfield Rd, Canfield, OH 44406) & OSU Extension Office (490 S. Broad Street, Canfield, OH 44406). OSU Extension Mahoning County, in partnership with the Ohio Division of Wildlife, invites you to a unique Harvest to Table workshop focused on venison. This hands-on program will walk participants through the entire process: Harvesting a deer on-site (including gutting, preparation for hanging, and cutting) Using different cuts to make jerky and sausage Preserving venison through canning and freezing Cooking and nutrition tips for your table Important Information: Cost: $30 (covers mileage for expert presenters) Class Size: Limited to 30 participants.
