Sounds of the Avalon Presents... Peter Fletcher's Music of Four Centuries Sunday, September 27, 2026 @ 2pm Peter Fletcher is an American classical guitarist based in Detroit and New York City. His recordings on Centaur Records and Towerhill Recordings labels have been critically acclaimed. He is a graduate of the Eastman School of Music. Peter offers an audience friendly, solo recital including repertoire that runs the gamut from the Renaissance Period through the 20th Century. Also, he will promoting a new Cd - Peter Fletcher in Concert as well as an all-Bach album. His program features Bach's Third Lute Suite and Jesu, Joy of Man's Desiring; Suite Española by Gaspar Sanz; the exciting Grand Solo Op 14 by Fernando Sor and Spanish guitarist and composer Francisco Tárrega's extraordinarily beautiful Capriccio Arabe. Peter is especially excited to perform Simple Gifts, a Traditional Shaker Hymn arranged for guitar by guitarist Christopher Parkening. He will play a captivating work entitled Usher - Valse by Russian guitarist and composer Nikita Koshkin. Composed in 1984, this piece has taken inspiration from the short story The Fall Of The House Of Usher by Edgar Allen Poe. The concert will culminate with Spanish composer Isaac Albeniz's Córdoba and Leyenda from Cantos de España, arranged by Fletcher from piano to classical guitar.
