Women in Ohio History: "Stagecoach" Mary Fields Thursday, October 22 from 6:30 PM - 7:30 PM in the Community Room at Dover Library The College Club of Tuscarawas County and Dover Public Library will host actress Robin Echols Cooper as she portrays Mary Field, better known as "Stagecoach Mary," an African-American entrepreneur, stagecoach driver and pioneer who lived by her wits and her strength. From her birthplace in Tennessee, Mary traveled north to Ohio and eventually to Montana where, in 1895, she found a job that suited her, as a U.S. Mail coach driver for the Cascade County region of central Montana.
