Nonfiction Book Discussion Group: WALKING WITH THE WIND
The Nonfiction Book Club meets the first Monday of each month at 7 PM. Registration is not required. Just read the book and join us for the discussion. Note: We always love hearing from new people with different perspectives, and we promise not to bite. This month's book is: Walking With the Wind: A Memoir of the Movement By John Lewis There have been many powerful books written about John Lewis and the Civil Rights Movement, but none are as affecting as the story told in Lewis's own voice. Walking With the Wind is not just a recounting of marches, beatings, and hard-won victories - it's a deeply felt remembrance of friendship, faith, and the quiet resolve that carried a generation through perilous times. Lewis writes with a gentle clarity that makes the past feel immediate, revealing both the cost of the struggle and the grace that sustained it. The result is a memoir of uncommon warmth and moral courage, a testament to how history looks and feels from inside the heart of someone who helped shape it.
