The Faerie Houses of Aullwood

The Faeries Have Returned to Aullwood Audubon for Summer 2026 A new collection of faerie houses have appeared along the Cardinal Trail at Aullwood Audubon, inviting both children and adults to discover nature's magic. Aullwood Audubon invites guests into the secret lives of woodland faeries through its annual Faerie Houses of Aullwood Exhibit. The exhibition will be on display through September 13, 2026. Aullwood Audubon Center and Farm is proud to announce that faeries have returned to Dayton. For years, these magical faeries have enchanted guests, but have you ever wondered where they mailed their letters, borrowed books, purchased bird friendly coffee, gathered with friends, or learned about nature? This summer, the faeries are inviting everyone to slow down and take a stroll through their village. Guests can complete a scavenger hunt while exploring the exhibit in exchange for a coveted gift from the faeries. Along Aullwood's paved and accessible Cardinal Trail, guests will discover six unique faerie homes that were constructed by local volunteers: Judi Hill (Post Office), Bard Trick (Nature Center), Kathy Anderson (Schoolhouse), Jill Gordon (Farmer's Market), Leah Romeo (Coffee Shop) and Jacqueline Gazda Birder (Library). "While we may be a team of six, most of us do not do this alone. Whether it is our husbands, granddaughters, sisters, friends, or at times each other, we have tremendous support throughout the process," shares Kathy Anderson, the lea
