Unsteady Flow Physics from Incompressible to Supersonic Regimes: Experimental Insights into Vortex and Shock Dynamics
Please join us for the next seminar on November 6 for the MIME Seminar Series. Speaker: Dr. Hadi Samsamkhayani, Assistant Professor in The Department of Mechanical, Materials, and Aerospace Engineering at West Virginia University, where he leads The FLOW Laboratory. Abstract: Unsteady flows are encountered in a wide range of engineering applications, Where the formation and interaction of coherent vortical structures and shock waves can Significantly influence flow behavior, fluid forces, structural response, and noise Generation. Understanding the underlying physical mechanisms is essential for Predicting and controlling these complex phenomena. The first part of the talk will focus on vortex dynamics and fluid-structure interactions near a free surface. The second part will examine shock-wave dynamics and flow instabilities in supersonic jets.
