The Nonfiction Book Club meets the first Monday of each month at 7 PM. Registration is not required. Just read the book and join us for the discussion. Note: We always love hearing from new people with different perspectives, and we promise not to bite. This month's book is: Stories Are Weapons: Psychological Warfare and the American Mind By Annalee Newitz Annalee Newitz looks at how the stories we absorb - from everyday internet chatter to sweeping political narratives - quietly shape what we believe and how we behave. Drawing on history and contemporary reporting, Newitz shows how powerful groups have long used storytelling to steer public opinion, but also how ordinary people push back, reinterpret, and reclaim those stories. The book invites readers to think about the narratives we live inside and the choices we make about which ones to accept, resist, or rewrite.
