Grad Career Week | Acceptance, Commitment and Self-Advocacy in the International Student Job Search Monday, October 12, 11 a.m.-noon, online This session will guide international students through principles and practices of Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and how to apply these during the job search process. The goal of this session is to equip international students with practical strategies to nurture their mental health while persisting in the job search. Presenters: Will Kirschner, LISW-S, Embedded CAPS Counselor for the Graduate College & Klekamp College of Law Rebecca Hale, Assistant Director of Career Coaching, College of Cooperative Education and Professional Studies Presenter Bios: Rebecca Hale, M.Ed. (she/her), cares deeply about supporting international and immigrant students in their career journeys. As a career coach with the University of Cincinnati's Bearcat Promise Career Studio, she draws on experience in ESL education, immigration advising, academic and co-op advising, and nonprofit leadership. She partners with UC International Services to deliver programs supporting student and alumni success. Rebecca holds degrees in English and Literacy/Second Language Studies and began her international education career in St. Petersburg, Russia. Will Kirschner, LISW-S, is the embedded counselor for the Graduate College and the Klekamp College of Law at the University of Cincinnati.
