The Role of the Black Church in Advancing Social Justice Initiatives

Pastor R. A. Vernon from The Word Church, along with Dr. Heather Burton of Case Western Reserve University, will engage students in the topic of how the Black Church has been fighting for social justice issues throughout African American communities. The event will also highlight the value of students pursuing further studies in Africana studies, religious studies, history, and social justice at Case Western Reserve University. Refreshments will be provided, and free copies of the panelists' books will be available while supplies last.
