Bearcats Ethics Symposium Lunch and Learn
Fraud Triangle and Fraudsters' Rationalizations: How Thinking Like a Crook Can Help Your Organization Prevent Fraud Join Dr. Natalia Mintchik as she brings insights from her Fraud Examination course to the Bearcats Ethics Symposium for a special Lunch and Learn session. Why do otherwise honest people commit fraud? This engaging presentation goes beyond the traditional Fraud Triangle to explore how individuals rationalize unethical behavior and convince themselves that misconduct is justified. Participants will examine the common excuses and self-deceptions fraudsters use, how these patterns of thinking develop in workplaces, schools, and everyday life, and how recognizing them can help prevent fraud before it occurs. Through a better understanding of how fraudsters think, attendees will learn to identify warning signs, challenge questionable decisions, and help foster environments that encourage ethical behavior. This session is open to all students, faculty, and staff, regardless of major or professional background. No prior knowledge of fraud examination is required. RSVP requested for purposes of ordering sandwiches, chips, and drinks. Hosted by: The Cincinnati Ethics Center Additional Information can be found at:
