Come From Away
Fremont Community Theatre, in partnership with Advancing Art Association, proudly presents Come From Away in September 2026. "You would have done the same." Says the mayor of a small Newfoundland town to one of 7,000 stranded passengers diverted to Canada following the tragedy of 9/11 where they are fed, clothed, and housed by the small Canadian communities in this hit musical based on true events. Following the bombing of the Twin Towers, thirty-eight planes were forced to land in the remote town of Gander, and the passengers were left in the care of these small but mighty communities. The musical, Come From Away, tells the story of how these towns rallied together to care for thousands of these people stranded in the air following the attack. Passengers from all different countries and situations are bound together with the Newfoundlanders while the world seems to burn around them. They process their grief, their love, their faith, and relationships with each other in light of the international heartbreak brought on by the terrorist attack. The story is of special significance to Frankie Bickel, the actor who portrays the real life American Airlands pilot, Beverly Bass, who rerouted her plane safely to Gander following the attack in New York. Frankie herself works as a flight attendant with American Airlines and knew one of the pilots who tragically passed away in the attack. She brings not only her talent, but her personal experience and an American Airlines pilot unif
