Over six weeks, twelve participants ages 55+ will engage in guided art-making sessions, explore basic slab building with clay and photography contact printing on fabric in a socially inclusive environment. All materials and a snack are provided each class, and the series will conclude with a community art exhibition at the library! *For adults 55+ only. Registration is required, and those interested should plan to try to attend all classes. *Happening at the Coolville and Nelsonville libraries. *NOTE: If a class is cancelled due to inclement weather, the series may be extended to make up that class. This program is made possible in part by an investment of public funds from the Ohio Arts Council (OAC). About our workshop leader: Jessica Held is an artist, teaching artist, small business owner, and festival coordinator based in Athens, Ohio. She earned a BFA in painting and photography from Ohio University and continues to exhibit and publish her work. She has led art programs for all ages in schools, libraries, and community art centers across Ohio, Texas, Indiana, and Michigan. Currently, Jessica teaches teen art clubs and summer camps at The Dairy Barn Arts Center and after-school enrichment programs through Ohio University's Kids on Campus.
