The Dark Side of the Garden: An Artist Talk with Joan Colbert

Even the most familiar plants can hold unexpected stories. Join artist Joan Colbert for a closer look at As Potent as a Charm, her ongoing series of black-and-white linoleum block prints inspired by the malevolent side of familiar plants. Drawing on literature, folklore, and her surroundings, Joan creates images that hint at darker stories while leaving space for viewers to form their own interpretations. During the talk, Joan will share the inspiration and process behind the series and explore how an ordinary plant can become something unexpected on the printed page. The artist talk is presented in conjunction with Higher Ground, on view at Peg's Gallery.
