Noirvember Film Screening and Discussion

Join us for an old-school movie night at the Michael Kusalaba Library. We'll view a complex book-to-screen adaptation, Crossfire from 1947 (based on the 1945 novel The Brick Foxhole by Richard Brooks) that was nominated for five Academy Awards and became the first "B-movie" to be nominated for Best Picture. After, we'll chat briefly about the challenges that came with adapting novels to the screen in the Hays Code era of censorship, and the changes that were made between the book and film.
