The Black Child Book Fair Tour

"Books for Black children are hard to find" is a common statement in our society. Black children need to see faces that look like theirs and stories about people that look like them written by people that look like them Come and discover what diversity in books can really look like. During this tour, patrons will discover books written by and depicting black children in a positive light. Representation matters, and the goal of this tour is to show all children to see faces in the books that look like or have been written by people who look like them. The Black Child Book Fair is a not-for-profit organization created by Darryl Harvey, which promotes African American focused reading materials in urban communities nationwide to enrich the educational, emotional, developmental, and social needs of youth with diverse backgrounds.
