The Cold War: Foundations and Impact
Learn about the Cold War's causes and how the actions of its adversaries created today's world. The Cold War (1945-1991) was a period of never-ending tension for the world, as two nuclear-capable superpowers faced off on political, economic, and propaganda fronts. Because they never met militarily in a hot war, this era has been understudied and remains one of the least understood periods of United States history. Reed Kimball, a staff member at the MAPS Museum in North Canton and a retired Colonel, will be discussing the Cold War through the moves and countermoves of its democratic and communist adversaries, and the impact these actions had on the world then, and now.
