First Wednesday Reader Series presents Pittsburgh poets Diane Kerr and Nancy Krygowski Wednesday, September 2 at 7:00pm at the Westside Bowl, 2617 Mahoning Ave. David Simonelli will cohost. An open mic will follow the featured poets. This reading will be downstairs in the Trophy Room, accessible only by stairs. Meagan Albani will provide ASL interpretation. The First Wednesday Reader Series receives support from POP! Art Books Culture. Diane Kerr, longtime member of Carlow University's Madwomen in the Attic Creative Writing Workshops in Pittsburgh, holds an M.F.A. From Warren Wilson. Published in Alaska Quarterly Review, Pearl, Poetry East, and the Mississippi Review among others, her second book, Perigee, won the Brittingham Prize in 2020. Nancy Krygowski is the author of The Woman in the Corner, one of Library Journal's top 100 (or so) poetry books of 2020, and Velocity, winner of the Agnes Lynch Starrett Prize. She is Co-Editor of the Pitt Poetry Series, an instructor in the Madwomen in the Attic writing program at Carlow University, and the former Pittsburgh Bureau Chief and staff meteorologist/poet for Tiny Day (RIP).
