Dr. Hollis Merrick Surgical Skills Course Reception and Opening Ceremony

The University of Toledo's Lloyd A. Jacobs Interprofessional Immersive Simulation Center (IISC) will host the 4th Annual Dr. Hollis Merrick Surgical Skills Course on Friday, November 13, 2026. Faculty and staff are invited to join us for light hors d'oeuvres beginning at 11:30 a.m., followed by the opening ceremony at noon at the IISC. All faculty and staff are encouraged to attend as we kick off this annual event. Made possible through the generous support of Dr. Mary Smith and the late Dr. Hollis Merrick , this course provides surgical residents with valuable hands-on training using donor patients to practice open, laparoscopic, and trauma surgical techniques. The program continues Dr. Merrick's vision of strengthening surgical education and collaboration in the Toledo area. We look forward to welcoming faculty and staff as we celebrate the fourth year of this important educational opportunity.
