Moses Fleetwood Walker Day Movie & Discussion

Schiappa Branch Library Celebrate Jefferson County's own Moses Fleetwood Walker, the first African American major league baseball player before the color barrier was imposed. Craig A. Brown will lead a brief discussion. Brown has devoted years to researching and promoting the legacy of Moses Fleetwood Walker. Through his teaching, public speaking, and grassroots advocacy, he helped lead the statewide effort that established Moses Fleetwood Walker Day in Ohio. After the discussion, we'll show the movie 42, the biopic of Jackie Robinson, a legendary baseball player who brokebaseball's color barrier. Light refreshments will be provided by the Mt. Pleasant Historical Society. Registration starts August 21.
