American Threads Book Club
Join us for a new quarterly community book club as we continue our 2026 American Threads reading series, part of a nationwide celebration of America's 250th anniversary and Ohio's lasting impact on the nation's story. This event aligns with Ohio's October theme: The Diversity of Ohio's Foods and Farms, highlighting the rich and varied culinary and agricultural traditions that make our state unique. Our final title is Endangered Eating by Sarah Lohman, a proud Ohio native and winner of the 2024 Ohioana Library Book Prize for Nonfiction. Lohman journeys across the country to explore rare and disappearing foods, many of which have roots in Ohio's diverse farming and food heritage. Her work celebrates the resilience and stories behind these endangered culinary traditions. This book club welcomes readers of all backgrounds and viewpoints. As part of the America 250 initiative, the event aims to foster respectful, thoughtful discussion rooted in history and what unites us as Americans.
