I Am... Orianna Carter

The I AM... Speaker Series gives people from campus and the community a chance to tell their own stories in their own words. Each one-hour session pairs a presentation with an open question and answer period, built on the idea that understanding starts when people actually hear from one another. This session features Dr. Orianna Carter, associate professor of biological sciences at OHIO Southern. Carter came back to school as a single mother working as an herbalist, gathering medicinals from the woods around her home to keep her children healthy. She wanted to understand how those plants actually worked, and that question turned into a career in education now more than 25 years long. Free and open to the public.
