Franklin Academic Alliance Come to this session for a bit of "good trouble." John Lewis was a key leader and organizer in the Civil Rights Movement, facing violent mobs and entrenched systems of racism in the struggle for equality. How did a man who confronted so much hatred and terror remain hopeful? Join us as we explore how hope can be chosen as a radical act of defiance in a world that so often leads us toward cynicism. We will also consider Lewis's role as a mentor, especially later in his career as a U.S. Congressman, and the practical guidance he offered others seeking to combine moral conviction with meaningful action. In association with the History department at Metro, the History Club at Metro and the School of Liberal Arts and Sciences Food and drink provided by the Mandel Center for the Humanities Can't attend in person?
